The Town of Frombork and Nicolas Copernicus
Frombork: a place where the greatest Polish astronomer, Nicolas Copernicus, lived, worked and died. A one-day trip to this incredibly enchanting town will be a great opportunity to obtain more information about the astronomer, and simultaneously to break away from the hustle and bustle of the Tricity to discover the charm of Frombork, which is called “the Warmia Region jewel”.
On a trip to Frombork, you will see the most interesting attractions of this town. First of all, there is the Cathedral Hill with the beautiful medieval buildings. The whole complex has been qualified as the highest class of the world monuments, comprising of bishops` palaces, canonical curias, defence walls, towers, bastilles and –last but not least – a gothic cathedral with its magnificent organ.
In the vicinity of the Cathedral Hill you will also visit the Radziejowski Tower with the Focault Pendulum, i.e. a device enabling you to observe, with your own eyes, the way the Earth revolves around its own axis. In Frombork you will also have an opportunity to see a show organised by one of the best planetariums in Poland.
Having seen all these attractions, you will have a chance to take a break and relax on the wonderful beaches of the Vistula River Lagoon.
